Minrl, E-Merge and the University of Bologna: Multicultural Entrepreneurship and Impact

We had the opportunity to be part of E-Merge, an incubation and acceleration program for multicultural social-impact businesses promoted by IOM Italy - Mediterranean Coordination Office, developed in collaboration with alcube and Banca Etica.

As part of this journey, we were hosted by the University of Bologna (Alma Mater Studiorum) to take part in the working group “Migration as an Opportunity for International Entrepreneurship and Investments,” within the Mig.en.cube project.
Our contribution was the story of minrl: the concerns we faced, the key decisions we made, and the values we chose to put at the center of our work. These include embracing multiculturalism and using responsibly sourced metals, most of them coming from Colombia, from Fairmined certified mines.

We believe that sharing experiences and speaking openly about the stories and challenges we have in common is one of the most powerful ways to grow, and to overcome political and cultural barriers that should never limit our progress.
