Our jewels are designed and crafted to the highest of standards. Correct care and maintenance will help preserve their beauty. The periodic examination of clasps and settings to ensure a secure fit is recommended. Always put on your jewellery last to avoid contact with hair products, perfumes, cosmetics or other household chemicals and always consider the need to remove them before taking part in certain physical activities or entering the ocean, a pool, hot tub, sauna, bath or shower as water, thermal springs, heat or chlorine might damage your jewellery.

Cleaning

Mix a little soap with lukewarm water and rub the item with a soft toothbrush. Toothbrushes are perfect for cleaning jewellery with difficult-to-access corners. If dirt persists, carry out the same process in clean water. A special silver-polishing cloth can also be a great tool to make your jewellery shine again, in the event that it becomes darkened or tarnished over time. However, this technique will not remove any scratches or dents present on the jewellery.

Storage

Your jewellery should be kept away from any exposure to sunlight or warm places, ideally in a padded jewellery box or tarnish-resistant bag. You can also keep these in individual airtight plastic (polyethylene) bags. Avoid using rubber or leather pouches and bags, as these can result in accelerated tarnishing and are likely to cause the jewellery to darken. Under no circumstances should you keep your jewellery in a bathroom or another humid location.

Caring for Gold

We use 9k and 18k gold in our designs. Proper care, storage and cleaning of your gold jewellery will help maintain the appearance of your piece.
To preserve the shine of your gold jewellery, wipe your piece with a soft cloth to remove any residue or build-up that may occur from normal wear.
Maintain your gold jewellery using a little soap with lukewarm water. Place your jewellery in the solution and brush lightly. Rinse under cool water and repeat as needed. Gently buff with a soft cloth to dry. Be sure your piece is thoroughly dry before storing.

  • Gold may be placed in ultrasonic or steam cleaner.
  • Keep gold jewellery in a pouch or jewellery case to avoid contact with other pieces in your collection.
  • Do not use abrasive or household cleaners while wearing your gold jewellery.
  • Do not rub gold jewellery with an abrasive cloth.
Caring for Sterling Silver

Caring for Oxidised black Silver

Jewellery with an oxidised black finish is true sterling silver, but its surface has been intentionally darkened by means of a chemical process. This patina, a surface colour that occurs when silver is introduced to sulphides, is a sped up version of the natural tarnishing process. A layer of silver sulphide forms on the exterior of the metal giving it a blackened look.
Only the top layer of metal particles are given this blackened colour, over time and depending on the amount of wear you give your jewellery, the oxidised finish will polish off and the true silver colour will shine through.
Oxidised finishes have the longest life on pieces that come into minimal contact with their surroundings, such as earrings and necklaces. Rings and bracelets tend not to hold their colour as long.

  • Oxidised black silver should never be placed in ultrasonic or steam cleaner.
  • Keep oxidised black silver jewellery in a pouch or jewellery case to avoid contact with other pieces in your collection.
  • Do not use abrasive or household cleaners while wearing your oxidised black silver jewellery.
  • Do not rub oxidised black silver jewellery with an abrasive cloth.
Caring for Bronze

We use Bronze in our designs. The proper care, storage and cleaning of your bronze jewellery will help to maintain its appearance.
To preserve the finish of your bronze jewellery, wipe your piece with a soft cloth to remove any residue or build-up that may occur from normal wear.
Maintain your bronze jewellery using a little soap with lukewarm water. Place your jewellery in the solution and brush lightly. Rinse under cool water and repeat as needed. Gently buff with soft cloth to dry. Be sure your piece is thoroughly dry before storing.

  • Bronze may be placed in ultrasonic or steam cleaner.
  • Do not apply lotion, make-up, or hair products while wearing your jewellery.
  • Do not use abrasive or household cleaners while wearing your bronze jewellery.
  • Do not rub bronze jewellery with an abrasive cloth.
Caring for Pearls

Pearls are ideal for daily wear, but not indestructible. Pearls may lose their natural luster or become scratched if not handled properly. Special attention is required in the care, cleaning and storage of pearl jewellery.
Pearls may build-up residue from daily wear. Maintain your jewellery using a little soap with lukewarm water. Brush lightly with the solution and rinse under cool water, repeat as needed. Gently buff with soft cloth to dry. Be sure your piece is thoroughly dry before storing.

Here are additional suggestions for keeping your pearls looking their best:

  • Put on pearls after you have completed your hair, perfume and make-up.
  • Do not use a silver cleaner on pearl jewellery, even pearl pieces that feature sterling silver.
  • Do not wear pearl jewellery in the ocean, hot tub, sauna, pool, bath or shower. Water can damage the natural luster of pearls.
  • Do not place pearls in an ultrasonic cleaner.
  • Do not steam-clean pearls.
  • Do not use any abrasive cleaners or rub pearls with an abrasive cloth.
Caring for Gemstones

The gemstones we use are not synthetic, and color variation within several shades are part of the individuality of the piece. Gemstones are softer than diamonds and can chip or scratch if not handled properly. Special attention in the care and cleaning of gemstone jewellery is required.
Over time, gemstones will build-up residue from daily wear.  Maintain your jewellery using a little soap with lukewarm water. Place your jewellery in the solution and brush lightly. Rinse under cool water and repeat as needed. Gently buff with soft cloth to dry. Be sure your piece is thoroughly dry before storing.

Here are some helpful suggestions to keep your jewellery safe from wear and tear:

  • Do not place gemstone jewellery in an ultrasonic cleaner.
  • Do not steam-clean gemstones.
  • Do not use abrasive or household cleaners while wearing your gemstone jewellery.
  • Do not rub gemstones with an abrasive cloth
Caring for alternative materials

In some of our jewellery we use alternative materials, including Silk thread and Paper. These are more delicate than metals and will change in their appearance over time.
To help lengthen their lifespan and delay these changes always put jewellery containing these materials on last to avoid contact with hair products, perfumes, cosmetics or other household chemicals and remove them before taking part in certain physical activities or entering the ocean, a pool, hot tub, sauna, bath or shower as water will damage these pieces.

Replacements can be purchased separately if and when needed, Contattaci for details.
